How Melanie Mills created GLEAM Body Radiance - About The Brand

When it comes to creating a beloved beauty product, there is no one formula for success. Many a MUA have attempted to create a product worthy of a cult-like following - and some have been successful... Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion and Fenty Beauty's Gloss Bomb come to mind. But when Melanie Mills created the first batches of her Gleam Body Radiance, she wasn’t trying to gain cult status or even launch a product at all - she was just doing her job as the head of the makeup department on the hit TV show "Dancing With The Stars."

Dancing With The Stars
You're probably familiar with the show–that one where hot celebrities team up with even-hotter professional dancers and shimmy across the stage on national TV wearing nothing but a couple of strips of spandex and a few thousand rhinestones? That's the one - Melanie Mills worked as Head of the Makeup Department for 11 seasons from 2006-2011. It was her innovation that brought the glow up to celebrity dancers and celebrity contestants alike. Melanie worked on a diverse set of celebs with varying levels of physical fitness, and she had to make everyone look their best from head to toe. Luckily, she was already working on a solution.
Those perfectly tanned and glistening bodies we see performing on TV are the result of Melanie Mills' backstage handiwork - she'd improvise and experiment by mixing up small batches of her own all-in-one product to give the dancers that sexy glow, but without downsides that would interfere with their performance. Combining the benefits of moisturizer, primer highlighter, makeup, and more, her homemade product looked so amazing on camera that the personal MUAs of the celebrity contestants would call Melanie to buy batches for red carpets and other events, even after leaving the show!
Melanie won a Primetime Emmy in 2008 for her work on Dancing with the Stars, and by then, her product was well on its way to cult status. When Melanie left the show in 2011, she had already begun production... and that same year, GLEAM was officially available to purchase!

GLEAM Face & Body Radiance
Melanie's GLEAM Face and Body Radiance is an all-in-one body makeup, shimmer, illuminating primer & moisturizer that provides an instant dose of color and shine with a velvety dry finish that doesn’t feel sticky. You can use it to cover up imperfections on your legs, use as a shimmering highlighter, or give yourself a lit-from-within glow by applying to your whole face, there’s really no wrong way to use it.
Each of the 6 shades are universally flattering and intended to look good on any skin tone. Opalescence (the lightest color) will give a sheer glow to any skin color. To perfect your skin, they recommend choosing a shade close to your own skin color or going a shade or two darker for a bronzed effect.

Other Awesome Aspects
One huge benefit (bronzer/self-tanner fanatics will agree) is the transfer-resistant formula - meaning no more ruined white shirts (or skirts or couches or sheets). After seasons of tweaking the product, Melanie has found the right formula that won't ruin dancers’ costumes, even through high-intensity workouts.
art of her recipe for success is using premium ingredients, like crushed pearl which accounts for 90% of the ingredients in Gleam Body Radiance. As an added bonus it’s paraben, sulfate, GMO, phthalate, gluten, and cruelty-free, vegan, and made in the USA!

With summer right around the corner, there’s no better time to try highlighting your natural tan, or having something on hand to perfect your legs in even the shortest shorts. Melanie makes it easy to want to try with universally flattering shades that have multiple applications, a trusted reputation, and cruelty-free designations from organizations like Leaping Bunny and PETA, so what are you waiting for? Give Gleam Face & Body Radiance a try, and leave a comment letting me know how it goes!

I am always looking at the self tanner bronzer for good looking summer legs. Instead of stockings or burning to get darker to reach a tan. Want to try the Melanie Mills self tanner tube formula for feeling better in great looking legs. Thanks for this current review very helpful.
