Cool down: H&S instant soothe scalp elixer
Head & Shoulder: RoyalIRoyal Oil Instant Soothe Scalp Elixer
I got this as a freebie from #shopperarmy during a H&S campaign. The royal oil line is geared towards black customers but it could really be used by anybody.
I was curious what this product could do for my natural hair and since it's allergy season *scratches everywhere* , a little anti-itch wouldn't hurt.
👀 First Impressions: At 4.25 fl oz, the bottle is a decent amount for the price. It's a special dispensing mechanism that allows you to get to your roots if you have thick hair. 😍😍😍 I'm instantly in love!
🧴 Application: I sprayed it on my hair and I felt it on my scalp in 5 seconds (not 5 hours)! #blackhairproblems You can also just apply it to your hands and massage it in. Or spray it directly on your hair. The elixer is runny enough to spray in one place and be able to massage it around your scalp but not so thin that it runs down your face. The coolong sensation was instant and so divine. I could spray this just to feel cooler on a hot day. ❄️
,🧪 Ingredients: Caffeine, Peppermint Oil, Menthol..all great ingredients. The cooling sensation appears to be natural. And the second ingredient after water is castor oil, another plus. But then we're back to the usual ingredients such as dimethicone (silicone) and fragrance (admittedly it smells purdy 🌺). It doesn't say it's a natural product, but I feel like this could have been easily converted to be natural. This could potentially be damaging.🤷🏾♀️ Just my preference.
💰 Price: $8.97 on Amazon for a 4.2 fl ounce bottle. Currently also 30% off.
📬 Final thoughts: Even knowing some of the less desirable ingredients I'm still using it. It's summer and it works fantastically. It's so expensive it's worth it imo.
