DIY Gel Nails for Spring - Nude with a Pop of Color 🌈

Hey there fam! What’s been blooming? All things SPRING!!
I want to share with you a nail look that I have been seeing and wanted to re-create. Too, since I’m sort of an amateur in the nail department, I was super stoked to have received a gel-effect polish (as well as a few other polishes from the Spring 2020 collection) from Essie to make my nails look at least somewhat professional.
For this look, I used:

Ciate Cookies & Cream
Essie Spring in Your Step 1606
Essie Make A Splash 1608
Essie Feeling Wellies 1610
Essie Gel Setter Top Coat
1. Apply Ciate Cookies & Cream.
2. Go over this with a second coat.
3. Let the nails dry for a good 15-20 minutes. The longer, the better (so that you don’t mess up the base during the next step).
4. Grab a small piece of tape and line it diagonally along the nail as shown above.
5. Paint over the tape with a pastel color, and alternate colors for each nail. You can use two, three, four, or five different colors--your choice.
6. Go over the paint on the tape for a second coat.
7. Let that dry for a little bit, maybe 5 minutes, and then go over with the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat!
Voila--That’s it! Something that looks really difficult made simple!

    Enjoyed your video. Thanks.

A very pretty spring look I think it is especially important to give enough drying time between taping and applying the different coats. Nice review

  • Chelsey

This is a good thorough review. I like your recreations of designs you liked. They are stylish for spring and summer. I personally like pastels and nude colors and French style for spring and summer.

I don't know if I would like to try these because after you finished it seems 2 coats look streaked on video if you take a closer look and looks a bit sloppy.

Now this is what I call a WOW REVIEW Malika!!! You manage to cover each and every detail concerning the Ciate nail polish and I'm absolutely certain that there's nothing that you left out⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I would love to try these!

Great tutorial! My go-to shades for spring and summer manicures are usually anything bright and colorful. I also love using holographic polishes so my nails sparkle in the sunlight.

  • Katie

That was a great tutorial! In the spring, the perfect manicure for me is definitely pastels. I also like putting flowers on my nails sometimes. For summer, I like to do neons. And glitter nails. Always love sparkles! ✨

Nice tutorial. I like that the colors seem like they can be worn at any day, casually. My ideal spring/summer manicure are vibrant colors like pink, orange, red and shimmery purple. I'd like to see tutorials on how to design your nails for when you have very few colors available.

I love nail polish and playing around with it creating looks. My ideal is something that gives beach vibes. Corals, blues, sea green and then pop a top coat of sparkle on the top. Beautiful, easy and goes with most anything.

Cute and fun nails. My ideal spring/ summer nails are press on nails. I am obsessed with them, I love nails that have a cute design and lots of sparkles and shine. Lately I have been liking Kiss nails the gel fantasy collection. They are so pretty and fun.

My ideal spring/summer manicure includes french nails with floral patterns and drinking a cup of rose tea under the warm sun. I would like to see tutorials on how to put on makeup for makeup beginners in the future.

Love these colors! I love pastel colors and neons for summer. And sometimes I use nail stamper for nail art.

Thank you so much, I really needed these for my videos! It could also help me on my youtube channel VioletpawzUwU(please subscribe!). My ideal spring/summer manicure is some pink nail polish with some cute flower decals that I have! I would also put a top coat of clear nail polish to make them shine. I want you to show me how a complete spring/summer look will look like with the makeup! I think it could really inspire us to recreate the look. Thanks!

What a creative way to do your nails!

My Summer/Spring manicures includes bright, vibrant and beautiful colors. Corals, Peaches, Yellows, Greens and more, even some abstract styles with clear and black lining. I think you guys should post more how to videos on everything. I liked the recent one with how to swatch on videos so anything relating to that would be great. Also maybe some DIY How to Videos like a DIY Tripod. I've recently made one and I think people need to know how to make their own stuff work without having to buy costly materials that they could afford later on in the future!

Nice! My favorite manicure will always be a French manicure, though. There's something about how elegant it looks that I like. I could have my nails like that all the time.

  • Ashley Mace

Ooohhh that turned out really good! I love all of these colors and feel they represent spring to the fullest! Thanks for sharing...i can't wait to try this out for myself!

  • Sarah Rantala

So pretty! I love the Ciate nude polish, I think it would look good on my skin tone as a nude, which can be difficult to find. My ideal spring summer manicure is very similar to this one. I would use all of these nail polishes and add a bright pink pastel, I would also do the same for my toes. I would love to see more nail art how-toes, as well as pedicure ideas. Would you peel of the tape while the polish is still wet, or after it dries? If you peel it off when it's wet, you could probably use a small makeup/eyeshadow brush and do a kind of gradient.

😍😍 Would love to try these I need new polishes to add to my collection getting sick of using the same ones all the time.

Love it great at home nail makeover

  • Monique Roybal

I love this! You gave a lot of great ideas to try at home. The colors u chose are beautiful and the tape idea is brilliant. I never knew how u apply a second color like u did and now I’m dying to try it out today!!!!😲 I don’t usually change up my colors depending on the season. I tend to wear bright colors but i like the pastels u chose for your review. I’ve never alternated colors before either but your look came out beautiful. I think I have a couple of pastels in my collection of 40 nail polishes lol. I’m definitely going to try this out. Thanks for the great review and all the ideas you sparked an interest in me! 😊
