Recreating Madison Beer’s Spotify Best New Artist 2019

Hey everyone! I was recently inspired by a reddit post by a makeup artist who recreated Madison Beer’s graphic eyeliner look at the 2019 Spotify ‘Best New Artist’ Event. She did a great job at recreating the look, and with all this free time on my hands, I decided to give it a shot as well!
This look features a clean graphic liner, a nude lip, and uses no eyeshadow!
The trickiest part of the look for me was working with my hooded eyes. For my fellow hooded eye friends, here’s what worked for me (although do take my advice with your own discretion as it may not work for all hooded eyes - some are more hooded than others):
1. Open your eye first to see where your fold naturally is.
2. Sketch out the liner first with your eyes OPEN.
3. Once you get the outline settled, then you can close your eyes and continue.
Thankfully the liner is a bit thick so you do not have to be very detailed with a thin line, and if you mess up, you can wipe it off with a q tip or cover with concealer!
Madison Beer’s Products vs Mine:
- Stila Cosmetics Black Liner ($22) vs Elf Expert Liquid Liner ($3)
- Benefit Roller Lash ($25) vs Etude House Curl Fix ($12)
- Chantecaille Future Skin ($78) vs. Dior Forever Skin ($52)
- KKW Beauty Creme Contour ‘Medium’ ($32) vs. Profusion Contour Palette ($20)
*She also used Laneige Lip Mask ($22), which I also have and used.
Other products I used:
Benefit Precisely My Brow Eyebrow Pencil
Burt’s Bee’s Blush in Bare Peach
WakeMake Concelear
ColourPop Ultra Blotted Lip - Zuma
ColourPop So Juicy Lip Gloss
ColourPop Pressed Powder Highlighter
This look is super fun to wear! I love how simple everything else is in comparison to the liner so that the graphic liner can really take front stage. I was happy to focus on liner without worrying about eyeshadow :) I challenge you to try a graphic eyeliner look, whether it’s this one or anything else! It’s fun to play with the shape and design of the eyeliner. Let me know what you think of this look or other graphic eyeliner looks that you’d like to recreate! :)

Great job recreating this one! So pretty

  • SherryR

I would have to practice to get this look and then if it wasnt completely the same on each side it would bother me. Lol...but I do love it on you !!

I'm not too hype on this deal..I do not like liner anywhere but on the bottom or top lash line..its for me tho...I'm kind of laid back and old!!

    This is amazing 👏

  • Nicole Robinson

It looks so good on you I love that look. Get it girl! 💕✨

Wow! Love your look and the products are reasonable too. Thanks for the tip too. is L'Oreal Paris Flash Cat Eye liquid liner. I like to do a simple either on the water line or above the eyelid. I'd like to try and master the winged eyeliner. I guess a tip would be to use very little each time and start with that because sometimes it can smudge and make it worse.

🌹🌹 I love this! You have serious skills. I will definitely try this look. I LOVE it! I can't think of any tips to do awesome eye liner looks. I just try to make it go in a straight line. Haha. Thanks for the great review! 🌹🌹

Gorgeous! I would love to be able to do this! Currently I'm using Kaleido Cosmetics in Obsidian. It goes on easily and quickly. I just do the upper lids because I always mess the lower ones up lol. I would love to master a cat eye but right now it's plain Jane for me.

This looks amazing on you! It really suits your eyes. Thank you for the tips! I think I could possibly do this if I put my mind to it. It looks like a really fun look to recreate.

I've never seen this look before. It's kinda cool! I don't know if I could pull it off, though.

  • Kayla Furnia

That looks so good! I have a really hard time with liquid eyeliner.

  • Rose Guttillo

Graphic eyeliner looks great. I have a hard time drawing a straight line with eyeliner. Very artistic look.

Wow, amazing! I so want to try this graphic liner out. I have tried one with Nyx's White Liner and Vinyl Liner and it came out dope as heck but this one is breath taking. I am absolutely loving the vibes!

Way to go on rocking a very hard to pull off look! The only eyeliner I wear is Kat Von Dee's Tattoo Liner. I get it in Trooper Black, and it is my go to eye product. I won't use anything else! I love that it is so easy to apply, even for hard to achieve looks like this one, KVD Tattoo Liner would work perfectly! it stays on all day, never smears, and is SO easy to apply! I almost always rock a cat eye look, and KVD Tattoo Liner makes achieving that cat eye flick even easier!

  • Mellyventures

I have not been one for this new graphic eyeliner look, but I'd say you nailed it!

  • Marlena Fannin

I just love that eyeliner look. I have started using liquid eyeliner and I just love it. The look you created is the one I have been wanting to try. Now that I have instructions, maybe I will be able to do it. Thanks for sharing.

I love Urban Decay black pencil eyeliner. I don't like liquid eyeliner, it's always messy!
