Setting Powder Review on Dehydrated Sensitive Skin
I’ve been using powders which contains talc and for a long time my skin sensitive doesn’t really agree to it. My skin would feel tight after a few hours of applying the setting powder. For a long time I have always thought that this is how setting powder should feel. I have been using Make Up For Ever’s “Ultra HD” microfinishing loose translucent powder for a long time. It did a great job at making my pores appear smaller, but it also made my skin look and feel really matte, and hence creating the feeling of “tightness”.
That was until I discovered Hourglass. There’s no turning back now. This is definitely going into my Holy Grail list!
Here’s my review on Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder:
💎Packaging: 3/5 – It does have a very luxurious feel to it. It’s gold and has a beautiful H shaped sifter. However, I think Makeup For Ever/ Glossier’s trampoline net works much better. I had the unfortunate incident of dropping the product (with its cover). When I opened the cover and a heck load of powder has been dispensed out of the “H” sifter. I couldn’t quite figure out how to “undo” it.
💎Texture/ Ingredients: 5/5 – I love that the product is talc and parabens-free. Definite no-no when it comes to any beauty product. Because it is without talc, the product doesn’t create the ashy feeling, or draw out moisture from your skin. I also love that the powder is extremely fine! Plus it is infused with diamond micro-particles (diamond powder). Which makes me feel expensive every time I wear it!
💎Efficiency: 5/5 – I absolutely love this product! It helps blurs the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles for an airbrushed finish. Because it is so fine, the diamond powder also helps create a glow but without any flashbacks. I also feel that it “sets” (I still think this is not the best description as it doesn’t make me feel like I’m wearing a mask) makeup for longer. Plus, my skin actually feels more flexible and hydrated throughout the day.
💎 Price: 4/5 – I’ve to say at £36 for 10.5g it is an expensive product. However, a little does go a long way. I can see this lasting me well over 6 months considering that I do not usually wear makeup everyday.
💎Repurchase: Heck yeah! This is definitely a makeup Holy Grail. If only it was a little cheaper but I’ve to say I’m addicted to this product!
💎Overall Rating: 4/ 5 It should actually get a 5 out of 5 if it wasn’t for the packaging and price point. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful setting powder I have ever experienced in the market!
