Showdown: Benefit Liquid Foundation vs. Milk Flex Stick Foundation

I’ve always been curious about stick foundation--it wasn’t really something I ever used growing up or in my early makeup days. Truth be told, this Milk Flex Foundation in Medium with neutral peach undertones is the first foundation stick I’ve ever tried (that sounds crazy, right?), while the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Liquid Foundation in Beige is one I’ve had for a really long time.
Right off the bat, the reason I wanted to share a comparison of these two is because I know there are two types of makeup lovers out there who favor either the natural effect or otherwise, the done-up, glam effect. I made sure to not edit or filter these photos at all so that you get the full impact of the comparison!
Clearly, the stick foundation left me with a fuller coverage, but I also am drawn to liquid foundation on days where I don’t want to look like I’ve tried too hard with my makeup. Even with the simple swatch on my lower jawline, you can tell that the Benefit Hello! Flawless doesn’t stand out too much while the Milk Flex Stick really does.
Too, I’d say the Milk Flex Stick has a pretty matte effect and can work for individuals who tend to get oily throughout the day (me, lol).
All in all, it comes down to what you prefer your makeup to do for you. Do you look to your makeup to transform yourself into a glam goddess? (choose the Milk Makeup Flex Stick) Or just to simply do a quick fix? (choose the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow)

LOVE THIS!!! I use Fondation daily so always up to trying new brands.

I like the stick foundation cause it's not so mess like the liquid foundation

  • sheena

I just bought the Milk stick Foundation and I absolutely love it.

They both look good so it's a toss up between using a liquid or a stick and how many ounces you get per each for the price.

I'm definitely gonna go with the Milk because I like playing around trying to beautify myself. This will allow better overall portrait

I typically use a stick over liquid foundation

I prefer liquid foundation as I can build it up and get better coverage!

I would definitely go with liquid foundation over stick one. The last one might be drying for my combo skin. In the past my skin was pretty oily and I used to use matte foundation by La Roche Posay. It felt nice. But now my skin is combo and doesnt really work for me anymore. It dries my skin. Need to use a very good prime before foundation.

A few months ago I decided to give the stick a try. I've been using Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating foundation stick. It does provide a good coverage and goes on thicker like Malvika said but I myself prefer it over the liquid, it just works better for me. Thanks for the post Malvika!

I like both! I usually tend to go more with a stick foundation, but I also use liquid.

I think that the Milk looks much better! It blurs out your imperfections and delivers a flawless finish! I think that it looks great and I would recommend that you continue to use that on days that you prefer to have a "glam" look!

They both look great. I am a lover of both stick and liquid foundation. I love the ease of stick foundation and how easy it is to take for on the go with no fear of mess. I also love a good liquid for when I want a more natural look.

I am more of a liquid foundation since it gives me more of a dewy look rather than matte since I have dry skin. With the stick, I always notice it gives me a cakey look and shows a little bit of the tiny bumps which I hate cause it ruins the look. I am more of quick fix and hide my little bumps and blemishes.

I've always been a stick foundation person because I have always been a very minimal makeup user. Regardless of the type you've used, it looks great on you. Really awesome review. So pretty. Thanks

I must say that I have never actually tried a stick form of foundation. I stopped using liquid foundation years ago, and switched to a mouse type foundation. I love this form more than any other. It goes on smooth, and you don't need to use very much of it. No matter which version you choose though, you should always use an applicator, not your hands or fingers. i might try the stick foundation at some point, even if just to say I did try it at least once.

I’ve never tried a stick foundation. I do like that benefit one on your skin though! I think it gives less texture than the milk makeup one 😌 I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on milk makeup as a whole. But I’ve heard great things about benefit 🙂 you’re gorgeous btw 💖

I am noticing ingredients do matter for different types of skins like oily skin. So I agree with you about this product Milk Flex Foundation. So good comparison for Flex Stick! Thanks for this posted review.

  • Rita Whirls

I've never tried a stick, it sounds interesting. Nice review. I'll have to give this product a try.

  • Kristin engstrom

I've never tried stick either! Would love to see the difference!

  • Prerna Agarwal

I have actually never tried a stick foundation so I guess my "preferred" one is a liquid one. I would love to try a stick foundation though to see if I like it on my dry skin.

I’ve never used a stick foundation so I can’t really give a biased opinion. It seems to me though, after reading your review, that the stick would last longer and it gave u a more natural look than the liquid. I just learned how to apply liquid foundation with a sponge and now I must learn how to use the stick. How exactly do u apply it vs liquid? U did a great review leading me to go purchase a stick and try it out as i also like the matte look.

  • Kasey

I prefer liquid foundations. So much easier to blend.
