Yay or Nay? Trying St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub

Hey PrismPop! I'm in Nashville for the week and forgot my facewash 🤦🏾‍♀️ Ran to the grocery store and picked up the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub and I'm trying it out for the first time.
This product claims to "unclog pores and calm redness for glowing, bump-free skin."
🌸 Scent is actually floral - can't smell the green tea.
🍵 A thick green facewash with thin exfoliating beads.
🧖🏾‍♀️ Use as a face cleanser before moisturizing. Washes off easily.
🤔 Verdict: I enjoyed how this felt during use and my skin felt clean and fresh after, however my skin started breaking out a lot after using this for the week. I can't say for sure if it was a result of this as it could be traveling, hormones, weather, etc. but for now I'm going to stay away from it.

That looks nice, I like their scrubs, nice review thanks! I'm currently using Philosophy's Micro Exfoliating Treatment, it's a really good exfoliant, very tiny particles, and easy on the skin, my face looks glowing afterwards.

    I love St. Ives!

I stopped using St. Ives years ago especially their scrubs I use a cleansing brush

I use a cleanser to exfoliate, I currently use Neutrogena ultra gentle cleaning cleanser - foaming formula, and I have also tried other exfoliating cleansers and sugar scrubs!

I'm actually using Clearasil rapid rescue deep treatment scrub. It costs about $7 at Wal-Mart. I use this along with Curology twice a day and it works great. I rarely get breakouts, it doesn't dry out my skin and it's affordable.

I can relate when I use anything new on my skin I will usually try to make it as all natural as I can until I can get back to my regular products. Love that you did this review even as you were traveling it’s always great to see how items work even when we aren’t at home.

I like St Ives exfoliating cleanser and have tried multiple varieties but the one containing citrus works the best for me. But my favorite exfoliator is Kate Somerville's exfolikate. It has a warming quality and makes my skin so smooth.

St. Ives Green Tea Scrub is my absolute favorite "drugstore" scrub! It wakes me up in the morning and it smells wonderful!!

I actually like St.Ives. I feel like it's the only exfoliater that gets all the difficult dead dry skin off my face. Apricot is my favorite one!

I have been using perfectly posh bff face wash and it exfoliates as well. I love it because it’s gentle enough to use morning and evening. It smells fantastic and gives your face such an amazing clean feeling.

Ive tried many exfoliants but right now I'm using a few different products: dr. Dennis gross daily peel, its a 2 step system using wipes and acids to remove dead skin and Goldfaden md which uses a physical exfoliate (ruby crystals).

I have used St. Ives exfoliating face wash before and I loved it if I was just using it every once in awhile. I found with continuous use my face would tend to feel tight and dry.

Thank you for your thorough review of your experience! I can say that i also enjoyed this product as well yes because its st. ives i was hesitant but anything with charcoal im willing to give a try. I have to say i enjoyed this myself as well my face and neck where i applied it were very smooth it didnt leave any residues and i didnt have any skin damage that i could see so to me this was definitely worth the try!

I, as rule and from experience stay away St. Ives. Many of their products are too harsh for the skin. Dermalogica’s Microfoliant works so much better on all skin types. There are a lot of great brands which exfoliate the skin gently and effectively. Juice Beauty, and Drunk Elephant are just a couple. Great Review!
